The Corrugations - Album Launch
March 8th, 2026
The Corrugations is the evolution of a musical association between Grant Young and Jeremy Davies that began in the 1980's
-
The Corrugations is the evolution of a musical association between Grant Young and Jeremy Davies that began in the 1980's when they played together in a popular trio around Perth. Over the years they got caught up doing "normal real-life stuff" and by the late 1990's they had moved on to other things. However, they never forgot their love of the music and how good they sounded together.
Grant and Jeremy reconnected some 15 years ago and started working on the huge repertoire of memorable original songs created by Jeremy since the 1980's and a broad selection of their favourite covers. They were joined by Mark Campana 5 years ago and the core of another excellent trio emerged playing both original and cover songs.
The opportunity to record some of the original songs came up at the end of 2024 when Grant approached Elliot Smith at Sundown Studios. We believe a great musical collaboration was born and this is potentially the first of a number of albums.
The Corrugation's would like to thank the amazing performances and contributions by Elliot Smith on drums and percussion, Lee Jones on Hammond organ, and Billie Rogers on supporting vocals. In addition, further wonderful brass arrangements were provided by Mark Turner who played sax with Matt Smith on trumpet and Sam Hadlow on trombone, and
gorgeous string arrangements were written by Sophie Curtis and performed by Sophie and Brian Kruger on cello and violin, respectively.
We hope you appreciate the time, love and effort that goes into making this music sound and feel as good as it possibly can.
